Al-Sadd coach Felix Sanchez emphasized the team’s readiness for the upcoming match against Al-Ain of the UAE in the first round of the 2024-2025 AFC Champions League Elite. The match will take place on Monday evening at Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain, UAE.
In the press conference, Felix said: “We are very excited to play this match, and it represents a great challenge for us. Our preparations were short after the return of the players from the national team, along with playing the recent match against Umm Salal in the QNB Stars League.”
The Al-Sadd coach added: “We have a strong goal and great desire from all the players to deliver a good performance and achieve a positive result at the start of our journey in the AFC Champions League Elite.”
Regarding the recent loss to Umm Salal in the league, the Spanish coach said: “Unfortunately, we did not achieve the desired result against Umm Salal. We had a poor start and played most of the game with ten players.”
He continued: “There is a lot of pressure from local and Asian matches, in addition to several players participating with the national team in the Asian Cup qualifiers for the World Cup. But we will give our best to achieve the best possible results.”
On facing Al-Ain, Sanchez said: “We will be playing Al-Ain on their home ground and in front of their fans. They are a stable team with their coach from last year, and they are very strong with outstanding players. We are strong as well and confident in giving our best and being fully prepared for the match.”
