Ahmed Suhail: Our respect for Al-Khor was the reason for this big win

Al-Sadd defender Ahmed Suhail attributed his side’s 7-0 victory over Al Khor in the QNB Stars League to the respect they gave to the opponents, and added that the competition was not over yet.

In his remarks after the match, Ahmed said: “We entered the match with the aim of winning and extending our lead, and we put pressure on the Al Khor goal and got a good result in the first half by scoring four goals.” ... 

Ahmed Sayyar: It will be a difficult game against Al-Khor, the competition is not over yet

Al-Sadd midfielder Ahmed Sayyar emphasised the importance of the upcoming QNB Stars League Round 15 clash with Al-Khor, describing it as a crucial game that his side is looking to win.

Speaking during the pre-match press conference, Ahmed said: “It will be a difficult match for the two teams. We are in the lead and we are aiming to collect the three points and Al Khor is at the bottom of the table and also needs the points from the game, so it will be a difficult confrontation and, God willing, victory will be for Al-Sadd.” ... 

Xavi: We cannot relax against Al-Khor, we must be focused

Al-Sadd coach Xavi Hernandez stressed on the difficulty of the upcoming QNB Stars League Round 15 clash with Al-Khor, and the need to be focused.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Xavi said: “Everybody remembers that we drew against Al Khor. They are one of the two teams that we lost points against. They’re in a good moment after defeating Al Ahli.” ... 

Al-Sadd hold main training session to prepare for Al-Khor clash

The Al-Sadd first team held their main training session on Monday, in preparation for the QNB Stars League Round 15 game against Al-Khor.

Al-Sadd go into the match sitting at the top of the table with 38 points, after the 3-1 victory over second-placed Al Duhail in the last round.

Meanwhile, Al-Khor are ranked 11th in the table with 10 points. The first phase match between the two sides ended in a goalless draw. ... 

Al-Sadd squad take official photo for 2019-20 season

The Al Sadd first team squad’s official photo for the 2019-20 season was taken today, with the team posing with the four trophies they won.

In the 2019-20 season, Al-Sadd won the Super Cup, Qatar Cup, Ooredoo Cup, and finally the Amir Cup.

The official photo was taken in the presence of Mohammed Ghanem Al-Ali (head of football), Turki Al-Ali (general manager), and all the players of the first team, in addition to the technical staff led by Xavi Hernandez, and members of the administrative staff of the team. ... 

QPA honours Al-Sadd players

The Qatar Players Association (QPA) honoured Al-Sadd stars Abdelkarim Hassan, Akram Afif, Khoukhi Boualem, Pedro Miguel, and Baghdad Bounedjah after they were selected in the Best XI for the 2019/2020 season, as voted by players.

Ibrahim Al-Ghanim (vice president, QPA) and Meshaal Mubarak (member, QPA Board of Directors) handed over the awards for the five players before the first team’s training session on Sunday, in the presence of Al Sadd head of football Mohammed Ghanem Al-Ali and coach Xavi Hernandez. ... 

Qatargas U-23 League: Al Sadd defeat Al Duhail 3-0

The Al-Sadd U-23 team registered a 3-0 victory over Al-Duhail, in the Qatargas U-23 League Round 12 match that was played on Friday at the Grand Hamad Stadium.

With this victory, the Wolves maintained their lead in the league table with a tally of 30 points from 10 wins and two losses in the competition so far. ... 

Recovery training for the first team ahead of Al Khor clash

The Al-Sadd first team resumed their training at 5:30 PM on Wednesday at the club’s secondary pitch. This came just a day after the team’s big 3-1 win over Al-Duhail in Round 14 of the QNB Stars League.

It was Baghdad Bounedjah’s hattrick that powered the Wolves to the crucial win. The Algerian international is now the top scorer of the league with 15 goals. ...
