Rafa Mujica: Extremely happy with this important win

Al-Sadd striker Rafa Mujica expressed his great happiness following the team’s important 6–4 victory over Al-Shamal and qualification to the semi-finals of the Amir Cup.

Al-Sadd beat Al-Shamal to reach Amir Cup semifinal

Al-Sadd qualified for the semi-finals of the 2026 Amir Cup after defeating Al-Shamal 6–4 in the quarter-finals on Friday at Ahmed bin Ali Stadium.

Al-Sadd will face Al-Duhail in the semi-finals on Tuesday, 5 May.

Al-Sadd’s goals were scored by Hassan Al-Haydos from the penalty spot in the 10th minute, Claudinho in the 13th minute, Rafa Mujica with a hat-trick in the 23rd, 24th, and 56th minutes, and Javairo Dilrosun in the 90+7th minute. ... 

Mancini: We will face Al-Shamal with full strength, this match will be completely different from the league

Al-Sadd head coach Roberto Mancini stressed the importance of the upcoming match against Al-Shamal, noting that the Amir Cup clash will be entirely different from the recent league meeting between the two sides.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Mancini said: “A very important match awaits us, and we will face a well-organised team. We played against them just a few days ago in the decisive league title match. We must stay focused because cup competitions are different, and the Amir Cup itself is unique. Everyone knows the importance of the Amir Cup for the club, the fans, and the players as well, and this is something I have clearly noticed everywhere.” ...

Al-Sadd crowned champions of 2026-27 Doha Bank Stars League

Al-Sadd were crowned champions of the 2025–2026 Doha Bank Stars League for the 19th time in the history of the competition, after defeating Al-Shamal 3–2 in the match played on Monday, 27 April 2026, at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium, Al-Sadd Club, in the 22nd and the final round of the season.

The title ceremony was attended by His Excellency Mr. Jassim bin Rashid Al-Buenain, President of the Qatar Football Association and Qatar Stars League, and Mr. Hani Taleb Ballan, CEO of the QSL.
