Al-Sadd sign Italian defender Romagnoli until 2029

Al-Sadd SC is pleased to announce the official signing of Italian defender Alessio Romagnoli on a three-year contract until 2029, from Italian club Lazio, to join the football first-team squad.

Saad Al-Dosari: Happy with the win over Al-Gharafa and reaching the final

Saad Al-Dosari, the Al-Sadd goalkeeper and Man of the Match, expressed his happiness over qualifying for the 2026 Qatar Cup final following a 2–1 victory against Al Gharafa in the semifinal match. Speaking after the game, Saad said: “Praise be to God for the victory. We were the better side in the first half, while Al Gharafa were stronger offensively in the second half. However, the most important thing for us was securing the win and qualifying.” He added: “I want to thank the Al Sadd fans for their support and backing. Our journey this season is still long and requires immense focus. God willing, we will deliver our best across all competitions and keep working to achieve our goals.”

Al-Sadd defeat Al-Gharafa to reach Qatar Cup final

Al-Sadd booked their place in the Qatar Cup 2026 final after defeating Al-Gharafa 2-1 in their semi-final at Khalifa International Stadium on Tuesday, 1 September 2026.

Frank Magri gave Al-Gharafa the lead in the 14th minute, before Hashim Ali equalised for Al-Sadd in the 25th minute. Mohamed Mannai then completed the comeback by scoring Al-Sadd’s second goal in the 43rd minute. ... 

Razvan: Qatar Cup means a lot to us, we have to be at our very best

Al-Sadd coach Razvan Lucescu stressed the importance of their Qatar Cup 2026 semi-final against Al-Gharafa on Tuesday, emphasising that his team will go into the game with one objective: to win and book their place in the final.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Lucescu said: “This competition means a lot to us. Winning two matches gives us the opportunity to lift the trophy, which would be the culmination of the players’ efforts and would make our fans happy.” ...

Al Sadd player Boualem Khoukhi expressed his happiness with the team’s emphatic 6–2 victory over Qatar SC in the second week of the Doha Bank Stars League for the 2026–2027 season.

Speaking after the match, Khoukhi said: “We played a strong game and deserved to take all three points.”

Doha Bank Stars League: Al-Sadd record six-goal win over Qatar SC

Al Sadd secured a 6–2 victory over Qatar SC in the second week of the Doha Bank Stars League, in the match played at Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium at Al Rayyan Sports Club on Friday.

With this victory, the Wolves moved to six points. Paulo Otavio scored twice for Al Sadd in the 15th and 23rd minutes, while Yusuf Abdurisag added the third goal in the 29th minute. Roberto Firmino scored in the 72nd minute, Claudinho added Al Sadd’s fifth in the 85th minute, before Akram Afif completed the six-goal tally in the second minute of stoppage time. ... 

Razvan Lucescu: We must give everything from the first whistle until the last

Al-Sadd coach Razvan Lucescu spoke of the importance of the upcoming Doha Bank Stars League Round 2 game against Qatar SC, which is scheduled to be played on Friday, 28 August at Ahmad bin Ali Stadium.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Razvan said: “Usually, the next game is always important because there are three points to be won. It is difficult because the particularity of the league is that in every game, one team could win over the other team. So we must be very well prepared, very concentrated, very focused, to be able to give everything from the first whistle until the last whistle of the referee.” ... 

Meshaal Barsham: Al Ahli is a tough team but we are happy to get the win

Al-Sadd goalkeeper Meshaal Barsham confirmed that the match against Al Ahli was not easy, in which the Wolves secured a 3–1 victory in Week 11 of the Doha Bank Stars League for the 2026–2027 season. Speaking after the match, Barsham said: “We faced a strong opponent with great quality. Al Ahli is a tough team, but we are happy to get the win and take all three points. We entered the match with high focus and a clear desire to achieve victory.” Barsham added that the current phase requires doubled focus, explaining that the team will not repeat the mistakes of last season and its sub-par start, promising to strive to give their best right from the beginning. Al-Sadd begin 2026-27 league campaign with 3-1 victory over Al-Ahli

Al Sadd defeated Al Ahli 3–1 in the opening week of the Doha Bank Stars League for the 2026–2027 season, in the match played today, Saturday, at Al Sadd’s Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium.

With this victory, Al Sadd secured their first three points of the season. Al Sadd’s three goals were scored by Akram Afif in the 11th minute, Claudinho in the 44th minute, and Pedro Miguel in the 45+6th minute. Giovanni Henrique missed a penalty for Al Sadd in the 35th minute, while Al Ahli’s Erik Exposito scored from the penalty spot in the 80th minute. ...
