Sanchez: We’re aiming for a win against Esteghlal in our first home game

Al-Sadd coach Felix Sanchez spoke about the difficulty and importance of the upcoming match against Iran’s Esteghlal in the second round of the 2024-2025 AFC Champions League Elite.

During the pre-match press conference, Felix said: “We have a tough game ahead of us against Esteghlal. It’s our first home game, and we are aiming for a win. We secured a positive result in the first match against Al-Ain, and we’re looking to achieve an even better result against Esteghlal.”

He added: “In our last league match against Al-Gharafa, we achieved a good and positive result. We need to keep working and improving. All of Al-Sadd’s players are highly determined to give their best in tomorrow’s match against Esteghlal.”

He continued: “Winning in the Champions League is very difficult, and we will fight to make that happen and secure all three points.”

Regarding the opponent, the Al-Sadd coach said: “Esteghlal won their first match against Al-Gharafa. They are a well-organized team, and we will definitely face difficulties. They have high-quality attacking players, so we will play with full focus to get the win.”
