Felix Sanchez: We know we have a short time to prepare but we are looking forward to this game

Al-Sadd coach Felix Sanchez described his side’s upcoming Ooredoo Stars League clash against Al-Khor as challenging and spoke of the team’s aim to focus only on this game.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Sanchez said: “It’s always challenging when we play after an international break. The players return after playing two matches with their national teams, and some of them have had long trips.”

“We need to assess the condition and mood of the players to prepare well for this game.”

He added: “We know we have a short time to prepare, but we are looking forward to this match.”

“We have four important matches in the coming period, and we begin with this game against Al-Khor.”

Asked about his side’s recent run of wins, Sanchez said: “Obviously, winning matches is important, but we know that every game has its own story.”

“We need to focus only on the next match and cannot think about the past.”

“Certainly, achieving a series of positive results gives you a lot of confidence, but we need to concentrate solely on facing Al-Khor. This match will be different from any other game, so we have to work hard to prepare well for it.

For his part, Al Sadd player Musaab Khidir emphasised the importance of the match and stressed the need to avoid mistakes.

Musaab stated: “We face a tough challenge against Al-Khor on their home ground. We must stay focused and avoid making mistakes. We will try to implement the coach’s instructions to secure the three points.”

The Al Sadd defender added: “The competition for the top spot continues. We are taking it step by step and not paying attention to the other teams. Our goal is to work hard and keep achieving more victories.”
