Felix Sanchez, the head coach of Al Sadd, emphasized the team’s readiness for the upcoming match against Al Ahli in the 11th round of the Ooredoo Stars League. The match is set to take place on Saturday at Al Thumama Stadium.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Felix said: “Our next match is against Al Ahli, and we know it is a very important game for us because we have the same number of points in the league standings.”
He added: “Al Ahli is having an excellent season and has become a very difficult team to beat, consistently delivering strong performances in the league. Therefore, we need to play a good game against them.”
The Al Sadd coach continued: “Our focus is now back on the league after our recent win against Al Nassr in the Champions League. We understand the importance of not dropping points if we want to compete for the top spot.”
The Spanish coach also highlighted how earning a positive result and three points is very challenging in the Champions League, especially when playing away. He stated: “Winning against a team like Al Nassr gives us confidence, but now we need to focus on our next match. However, we have a short recovery period, so we need to be extremely focused for the upcoming game against Al Ahli.”
Meanwhile, Al Sadd player Yousuf Abdurisag stressed the importance of preparing well for the upcoming match against Al Ahli, as Al Sadd aims to continue winning and move closer to the top of the standings.
He added: “The match against Al Ahli will be tough for both teams. Our goal is to secure the three points and keep our winning momentum. The recent victory over Al Nassr in the Champions League gives us a significant boost to continue performing at our best and earn the win.”
