Al-Sadd star Akram Afif expressed his joy after the team’s 3-1 victory over Al-Wasl, which secured their place in the AFC Champions League Elite quarterfinals.
After the match, Afif said: “Alhamdulillah, we achieved our goal by winning and advancing to the quarterfinals of this continental competition. It’s been a while since we reached this stage, so we needed this victory.”
Named the Man of the Match, Afif added: “We played a strong match. Al-Wasl is a quality team and started well, scoring an early goal. However, we didn’t give up and responded with three fantastic goals.”
