Al-Sadd coach Felix Sanchez spoke about the importance of the upcoming game against Al-Shahania in the fourth round of the Doha Bank Stars League.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Sanchez said: “We have just come back from the international break, and of course it’s always a bit different when the players return. For some of them, today is the first day back with the team, so we need to see how they are physically, check their condition, and prepare for the game.”
“All matches in the league are very demanding, every team needs points, but we are confident that we will be ready to play on Friday and deliver a good performance.”
About the players’ return from national duty, Sanchez said: “As I said before, when players return from national duty, it’s important to monitor how they feel and whether they are at 100%. Hopefully that will be the case, but we also need to assess carefully which players are in the best physical condition to help the team.”
He added: “We have many games coming up in the next two weeks, so it’s important that all of our players are ready and in their best shape for each match.”
Meanwhile, Al Sadd midfielder Mustafa Tarek affirmed his team’s readiness to face Al Shahania, stressing the importance of securing the three points as the team continues its push for the league title.
Mustafa added: “Al Shahania is a developing team, but we are fully prepared to win and claim the three points. We have confidence in ourselves and we look forward to the support of Al Zaeem’s fans during the match.”
