Félix Sánchez: Not satisfied with the result against Sharjah

Al Sadd coach Félix Sánchez expressed his disappointment after his side were held 1-1 by Sharjah in the AFC Champions League Elite.

At the post-match press conference, Sánchez said: “We went ahead in the first half and wanted to continue in the same way in the second, playing attacking football, but the team dropped back and conceded unexpectedly. It was a balanced game between both sides.”

He added: “Yes, we definitely dropped two points. Playing at home, we should have won. That was our target and we worked for it. We got one point, but it’s not enough.”

The Spanish coach continued: “We need to improve our performance. I made several changes during the game, some of them forced, and we wanted to increase the pressure on our opponents. We didn’t achieve the result we wanted. I don’t want to make excuses, but we are waiting for injured players to return and we need to develop ourselves further in the coming period.”
