Akram Afif, the star of Al Sadd, expressed his happiness with the big 4–0 victory achieved by Al Sadd against Al Shahania in Week 15 of the 2025–2026 Doha Bank Stars League.
Akram said in his post-match comments: “We achieved an important win over Al Shahania. We reached the top of the table after a lot of hard work. We managed to secure many consecutive victories, which earned us the lead deservedly.”
The Al Sadd star added: “We were not at our level in the first half, and Al Shahania could have scored. But in the second half, we played much better and scored three consecutive goals.”
The Man of the Match pointed out that achieving eight consecutive league wins is not easy. He continued: “We fell behind a lot in the first phase, but we succeeded in achieving eight straight victories that put us at the top of the standings, and that is not an easy effort. It is very important for us to go top, especially since Al Sadd is always among the favourites to win the title.”
Akram concluded: “We have an important step ahead in the AFC Champions League Elite, and we must prepare well in order to win and secure three important points in our Asian campaign.”
