Roberto Mancini, the head coach of Al Sadd, affirmed the team’s readiness for their upcoming match against Al Markhiya in the Round of 16 of the 2026 Amir Cup, which will be played on Saturday evening at Grand Hamad Stadium at Al Arabi Club.
Mancini said during the press conference: “The Amir Cup is a very important competition, and we are preparing to face Al Markhiya. In such tournaments, as is known all over the world, there are no small or big teams.”
The Al Sadd coach added: “Everyone has ambition, and we also have ambition. I know Al Sadd’s history in these competitions. We will prepare well for this match, which we must win in order to advance to the next stages.”
The Italian coach pointed out that cup competitions are different and that the team is fully focused. He added: “We will rotate the squad because the team is competing in multiple tournaments. We will do what is necessary to give opportunities to all players, involve the appropriate players, and allow playing time for those who have not featured regularly.”
