Roberto Mancini, Al-Sadd’s head coach, described the upcoming match against Al-Duhail — part of Week 17 of the Expo Stars League for the 2025–2026 season — as very strong and extremely important.
Mancini said during the press conference: “The next match will be a very important match, but it is like all the other matches. If we want to win this championship, we need to beat Al-Duhail, and we also need to beat Al-Arabi. But we know it will be a difficult game.”
He added: “I think the match between Al-Sadd and Al-Duhail is an important match in Qatar every year. For this reason, I believe it will be a very good game. Our goal is to keep winning in order to get closer to securing the title.”
For his part, Hassan Al-Haydos, the captain of Al-Sadd, stressed the importance of the upcoming match against Al-Duhail in Week 17, in order to continue the team’s run of victories.
The Al-Sadd captain continued: “We have a tough and strong match ahead of us against Al-Duhail. We are now in the final stretch of the league, and we aim for the three points in every game.”
Al-Haydos added: “We did not deliver our best or what we hoped for against Al-Wakrah — especially in the first half — but we are fully responsible and determined to perform better against Al-Duhail.”
He concluded: “The support of Al-Sadd fans is our first and biggest motivation. There are six matches left in the league in addition to the AFC Champions League, and we will certainly need our fans greatly.”
