Al-Sadd’s first football team suffered a 2–1 defeat to Czech side Sigma Olomouc in their first pre-season friendly on Friday as part of the team’s preparations for the 2026–2027 season.
Al-Sadd started the match with Saad Al-Dosari in goal; Tarek Salman, Paulo Otávio, Abdessamad Bounacer and Younes Al-Hanash in defence; Augustin Soria, Claudinho and Hashim Ali in midfield; while Giovani Henrique, Roberto Firmino and Rafa Mujica led the attack.
A number of changes were made in the second half, with Yousuf Al-Balushi, Abdulrahman Bakri, Abdullah Al-Otaibi, Abdullah Al-Yazidi, Mohammed Waad, Mostafa Tarek, Guilherme Torres, Faisal Al-Mukhal, Moaz Al-Wadiya, Mohammed Hani, Mahdi Salem, Zaid Burhan and Rashid Muneer all coming on.
The first half ended 1–1, with Rafa Mujica scoring Al-Sadd’s goal in the 44th minute.
