Al-Sadd suffered a 4–1 defeat to UAE side Shabab Al Ahli in their second pre-season friendly on Wednesday as part of the team’s preparations for the 2026–2027 season.
Al-Sadd started the match with Saad Al-Dosari in goal; Tarek Salman, Paulo Otávio, Abdessamad Bounacer and Abdullah Al-Yazidi in defence; Augusto Soria, Claudinho and Hashim Ali in midfield; while Giovani Henrique, Roberto Firmino and Rafa Mujica led the attack.
Several changes were made in the second half, with Yousuf Al-Balushi, Abdulrahman Bakri, Abdullah Al-Otaibi, Abdullah Al-Yazidi, Mohammed Waad, Mostafa Tarek, Guilherme Torres, Mohammed Hani, Mahdi Salem, Mohammed Camara and Yaman Jarrar all coming on.
Shabab Al Ahli took a 2–1 lead into half-time, with Roberto Firmino scoring Al-Sadd’s only goal from the penalty spot in the 40th minute.
