Al-Sadd full-back Musaab Khidir spoke of the difficulty of his side’s upcoming QNB Stars League Round 2 game against Al-Sailiya, and added that the Wolves are capable of getting the three points.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Musaab said: “The Al Sailiya game will be tough. As you know, the team has changed after the last season, just as we have changed ourselves. Al-Sailiya have brought some new foreign players as well, they brought Mohanad Ali, and also Thaigo from Al-Khor, and so for sure, it will be a very difficult game.”
“But our players are good enough. I think this season ours is a complete team, capable of winning these three points and also capable of winning the title too.”
He added: “As players, we must all be focused – all 23 players – and decrease our errors, because I expect Al Sailiya to exploit our mistakes, in order to get a draw or even win. Therefore we must reduce our errors and be focused, and if we do that, we can get the three points.”
“The players who came back from their loans were playing here before, and we’ve played with each other in the national team, be it Mohammed Waad, Ahmed Suhail and Yousuf Abdurisag, we all know each other. So everyone fits in well in the team. Maybe the new foreign players may require a game or two but Al Sadd is like a family, on and off the pitch, and I dont think adapting is an issue.”
Asked about the Champions League games, Musaab said: “As for Asia, our focus now is on the league. We will get the Al Sailiya match done and then we will think about the Champions League later.”
