Al-Sadd coach Razvan Lucescu expressed his deep disappointment after the Wolves suffered a 3-0 defeat to Iranian side Esteghlal in their opening match of the AFC Champions League Elite.
Speaking after the match, Lucescu said: “There is not much to say. We played a very poor game and did not do what was required to get a positive result.
“We faced a team with a strong determination to win, while we lost control of the game and were unable to find a way to get back into the match.”
The Al-Sadd coach concluded: “Esteghlal deserved to win. We must address the mistakes we made and come back strongly in our upcoming matches in the competition.”
