Al-Sadd exited the 2020-21 Ooredoo Cup after a 4-2 defeat to Al-Gharafa in the quarterfinal clash which was held today, Monday, at Suhaim bin Hamad Stadium.
Al-Gharafa opened the scoring through Sofiane Hanni in the 27th minute, before the South Korean midfielder Koo Ja-cheol added the second goal in the 48th minute.
Tabata reduced the deficit by scoring Al-Sadd’s first goal in the 52nd minute, and then Santi Cazorla levelled the score from a penalty kick in the 74th minute. Al-Gharafa regained the lead through Sofiane Hanni’s penalty kick in the 83rd minute, before Othman Al-Yahri scored their fourth goal in the 87th minute to give them a 4-2 win.
