Al-Sadd climbed to the top of the Qatargas U23 League table with a 2-1 win over Al-Gharafa, in the Round 8 game which was played at Al Shamal Stadium on Saturday.
The result took Al-Sadd’s points tally to 18, moving past Al-Gharafa to claim top spot on the league table.
Hassan Ahmed put Al-Sadd in the lead in the 19th minute with a powerful shot from the edge of the box, before Ali Asad made it 2-0 in the 41st minute. Al-Gharafa then reduced the deficit through Mohammed Ali Jamin in the 62nd minute. Al-Sadd goalkeeper Jehad Mohammad also saved two penalties in the 56th and 64th minutes.
