The Al-Sadd first team launched their preparations today for the new 2021-22 season, with their first training session at the club’s training facility. The session saw the participation of the available players, amidst the absence of several stars who are currently with the Qatar national team in the United States.
12 Al-Sadd players are currently away on national duty with Qatar: Saad Al-Dosari, Meshaal Barsham, Pedro Miguel, Abdelkarim Hassan, Khoukhi Boualem, Hassan Al-Haydos, Akram Afif, Tarek Salman, Ahmed Suhail, Musaab Khidir, Yousuf Abdurisag and Muhammad Waad. Also unavailable is Salem Al-Hajri, who suffered an Achilles tendon injury towards the end of last season.
Wednesday’s training session was attended by club general manager Turki Al-Ali, sporting director Mohammed Ghulam Al Balushi, and the administrative staff of the first team.
The Wolves are scheduled to continue training on a daily basis until August 1, when the squad will travel to the Spanish region of Olot (100 km from Barcelona) for the overseas preseason camp. The camp will last until August 14, and will include three friendly matches in preparation for the new season.
During the first training session on Wednesday, the Al-Sadd players underwent physical and technical training with the ball in order to get revitalised and to prepare for the upcoming period.
