The Al Sadd first team continued training today, Wednesday, in preparation for facing Al Sailiya, in the 2021-22 QNB Stars League Round 1 game that will be played next Sunday at Thani Bin Jassim Stadium in Al Gharafa.
The training session witnessed the return of the trio of the Qatar U-23 national team – Mustafa Tarek, Faisal Azadi, Yousef Al Balushi – after the end of their camp in Austria, in addition to the return of the South Korean international Jung Woo-young after his participation with his national team in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
The Wolves are awaiting the return of the Qatari international players on Friday, with 13 players from Al-Sadd having been away with the Qatar national team – Saad Al-Dosari, Tarek Salman, Khoukhi Boualem, Pedro Miguel, Abdelkarim Hassan, Akram Afif, Hassan Al Haydos, Mohammed Waad, Yusuf Abdurisag, Ahmed Suhail, Ali Asad, Meshaal Barsham and Musaab Khidir.
Algeria’s Baghdad Bounedjah and Ghana captain Andre Ayew are scheduled to return within the next two days, after the end of their participation with their respective national teams in the African qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup.
The technical staff, led by the head coach Xavi Hernandez, are working on increasing the team’s focus in the coming days, in order to prepare for the opening match against Al Sailiya.
