Al-Sadd defender Tarek Salman expressed his delight after his side’s big 5-1 win over Al-Gharafa in Round 17 of the QNB Stars League.
In his statement after the match, Tarek said: “Praise be to God, we played a very good match and the performance was wonderful. Despite the numerical disadvantage we suffered after the red card shown to Akram Afif at the beginning of the first half, our players were up to the responsibility and we got a five-goal win.”
He added, “We deserve this big win, after a good performance throughout the two halves of the match. The match was a test for us, to play with ten men, but we did well and passed it.”
About clinching the league title, Tarek said: “We still have two or three matches to decide the title. Our team is showing a good level and there is great optimism in our team before taking on the challenge of the AFC Champions League, in which we will strive to reach the farthest point.”
