Al-Sadd players and officials marked the recent QNB Stars League triumph in a special way, with captain Hassan Al-Haydos presenting the league shield to His Excellency Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Attiyah at his majlis, the founding father of the club, to celebrate the occasion of the 16th league title victory in the club’s history.
Present on the occasion were Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Attiyah, the former Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Brigadier Khalid bin Hamad Al Attiyah, head of the Arab and Qatari Police Sports Federations, and former Al Sadd stars Mubarak Anbar and Hassan Matar. Representing the club management were CEO Turki Al Ali, sporting director Mohammed Gholam Al Balushi, first team manager Abdullah Al-Braik, and first team officials Muhammad Saeed Al-Hassan and Abdulaziz Al-Jeaidi.
Team captain Hassan Al-Haydos, goalkeeper Saad Al-Dosari, Abdelkarim Hassan, and Algerian striker Baghdad Bounedjah represented the players.
His Excellency Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Attiyah expressed his great happiness upon witnessing what he described as a wonderful initiative from the club management.
He stressed that Al-Sadd is a club accustomed to winning titles and recording significant achievements, and added: “I congratulate the board of directors, the club’s management and the coaching staff led by the Spaniard Javi Gracia.”
He noted that the team was up to the task and succeeded in adding a new title to the collection of the club, which is the 77th overall championship in its history.
His Excellency concluded: “Al-Sadd has shown a wonderful level this season and succeeded in winning the league championship title deservedly.”
