Al-Sadd’s head coach Juanma Lillo expressed confidence in the team’s readiness to face Al-Arabi in the final of the 2023 Amir Cup, scheduled to be played on Friday at the Ahmed bin Ali Stadium.
During the press conference, Juanma stated, “We have been preparing for this crucial match for a long time. It holds great significance for us, and our objective is to emerge as winners. I consider myself fortunate to lead a team comprising exceptional players who possess all the necessary abilities to secure victory and claim the championship.”
He further elaborated, “Our previous encounter with Al-Arabi was in the Qatar Cup, and it is quite coincidental that our final match of the season is against them. We have faced Al-Arabi twice before, so both teams are familiar with each other’s style of play.”
When asked about his future with the team, Juanma clarified, “As per my contract, I will continue coaching the team in the upcoming season.”
Regarding the team’s ball possession strategy, the Al-Sadd coach explained, “When we have control over the ball, the opposition struggles to regain possession. This provides us with stability on the field, enabling us to initiate attacks and reach the opponent’s goal while limiting their options to threaten our own. This is the ultimate objective for any team.”
In conclusion, the Spanish coach emphasized, “We are fully aware of the significance of this strong and pivotal match. Every Al-Sadd player carries a great responsibility, and our aim is to claim the championship.”
