Al-Sadd’s first team played out a 2-2 draw against Raja Casablanca in a friendly match held on Friday, July 21, at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium.
The match comes as part of Al-Sadd’s preparations for participating in the King Salman Club Cup, and the upcoming 2023-24 season.
Al-Sadd managed to take the lead in the 29th minute through Hassan Al-Haydos, and in the 33rd minute, Algerian striker Baghdad Bounedjah scored the second goal, which meant the first half ended with Al-Sadd carrying a 2-0 lead.
At the start of the second half, Raja Casablanca pressed hard, and defender Abdullah Khafifi successfully reduced the gap for the Moroccan team, scoring their first goal with a header in the 55th minute.
In the 68th minute, Raja Casablanca scored their equalising goal, courtesy of midfielder Yassir Bouzag.
Al-Sadd started with the following lineup: Meshaal Barsham, Khouki Boualem, Tarek Salman, Pedro Miguel, Hassan Al-Haydos, Musaab Khidir, Ahmed Sayyar, Matheus Uribe, Akram Afif, Baghdad Bounedjah, Giovani Henrique.
Ahmed Al-Saadi, Saad Al-Dosari, Mohammad Amin Hazbawi, Ali Asad, Mustafa Tarek, Abdullah Al-Yazidi, and Hashim Ali came on as substitutes.
