The draw for the group stage of the AFC Champions League 2023-2024 took place on Thursday at the AFC headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia.
Al-Sadd have been drawn in Group B, alongside Uzbekistan’s Nasaf, UAE’s Sharjah, and Jordan’s Al-Faisaly.
This 21st edition of the tournament, under its new format, marks the shift from the spring season to autumn for the first time. It will now be held from autumn to spring, with the tournament dates spanning from September 2023 to May 2024.
The participating clubs have been divided into 10 groups, each consisting of four clubs. West Asian clubs have been distributed among groups A-E, while East Asian clubs are divided into groups from F-J.
Following the group stage, the top-placed clubs from the ten groups will advance to the round of 16. Additionally, the top three second-placed clubs from each region will also qualify. The knockout stage competitions will be held from February to April of the following year. The two legs of the final are scheduled for May 11 and 18, 2024.
