Al-Sadd under-23 player Ahmed Mohammed Al Saeed was ruled out of action for 6 months, after medical examinations confirmed that he had torn the cruciate ligament in his left foot.
The player suffered the injury during the match against Al Sailiya in the third round of the Ooredoo Cup, which ended in a 4-4 draw.
Ahmed is expected to undergo surgery at Aspetar Hospital in the coming days, which will be followed by a 6-month treatment and rehabilitation program before returning to training again with the reserve team.
