Al Sadd defeaeted Spanish side Figueres 5-3 in the first friendly match of the preseason camp in Olot, in preparation for the new season.
The Wolves started the game with a lineup consisting of Yousef Al Balushi, Jung Woo-young, Abdulrahman Al Nuaimi, Abdulrahman Rashid, Faisal Azadi, Guilherme Torres, Rodrigo Tabata, Santi Cazorla, Andre Ayew, and Baghdad Bounedjah.
The first half ended with the Figueres leading by two goals. After the break, Andre Ayew scored Al Sadd’s first goal in the 50th minute. Baghdad Bounedjah then scored the equaliser in the 60th minute, before Al Sadd went ahead with the third goal by Santi Cazorla from a penalty kick in the 71st.
Baghdad Bounedjah returned and got his second goal and Al Sadd’s fourth in the 75th minute, while substitute Mohammad Al-Manai concluded the scoring for the Wolves in the 78th minute. Figueres then pulled a goal back, with the game ending in a 5-3 win for Xavi Hernandez’s side.
The second half saw the introduction of Jehad Muhammad, Mohammad Almanai, Hashim Ali, Abdullah Al-Ali, Ahmed Sayyar, Mahdi Salem, Muhammad Al-Quraishi, Talal Ateeq, Abdullah Al-Yazidi and Moaz Al-Wadiya as substitutes.
