The Al-Sadd football team held their main training session from 6 PM onwards on Thursday, at the club’s training facility in preparation for the upcoming game against Al-Ahli in Round 16 of the QNB Stars League. The match is scheduled to be played on Saturday at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium.
Al-Sadd enter the game in high spirits occupying first position in the league with a tally of 41 points from 13 wins and two draws. Meanwhile, Al-Ahli are ranked sixth with 23 points. The first phase game between the two sides ended with Al-Sadd winning 7-1.
Thursday’s main training session witnessed the participation of all the first team stars, with the coaching staff keen to raise the players’ technical and physical fitness levels.
The coaching staff, led by Xavi Hernandez, focused on training drills with the ball during the main session, which varied between offensive and defensive aspects, before Xavi implemented a practice mini-game in the middle of the pitch that witnessed great spirits from all the players. During the mini-game, the focus was on some of the tactical moves that are expected to be implemented during the clash with Al-Ahli.
Al-Sadd will hold their last training session from 6 PM onwards on Friday at the club’s training facility, at the end of which the coach will announce the matchday squad.
