The Al-Sadd first team held their main training session today, Saturday, in preparation for facing Al-Sailiya in the QNB Stars League Round 12 game, which is scheduled to kick off at 6:20 PM on Monday at Suhaim bin Hamad Stadium.
Al Sadd go into the match with great enthusiasm, sitting at the top of the league standings with 28 points, while Al Sailiya are in twelfth position with 5 points.
The Qatar Stars League management had earlier postponed Al-Sadd’s Round 11 game against Al-Wakrah, after Al-Wakrah confirmed that a number of its players had tested positive for Covid-19. The new match date will be announced later by the Competitions Committee.
During Saturday’s session, the coaching staff worked on some special attacking strategies, while focusing on the players’ movement, before going on to organise a practice mini-game in the middle of the pitch.
In the second half of the training session, the Al-Sadd players underwent special training on shooting from deep and from the sides.
The main training session also witnessed the return of the team’s two goalkeepers, Saad Al-Dosari and Meshaal Barshim, after they recovered from the injuries they suffered during their time with the Qatar national team at the Arab Cup.
The Wolves are now scheduled to have their final training session from 5:15 PM onwards on Sunday, at the end of which the coach will announce the list of players for the game, before the squad departs for an overnight camp.
