The Al Sadd first team held its main training session on Saturday, at the club’s training facility in preparation for the upcoming game against Qatar SC in Week 11 of the QNB Stars League.
Al-Sadd go into the game in high spirits after opening up a seven-point at the top of the league table, having defeated Al-Rayyan 1-0 in their last match. Meanwhile, Qatar SC is ranked fifth in the table with 18 points.
Saturday’s main training session witnessed the participation of all the available players, with the exception of Akram Afif, after he contracted COVID-19. He will now miss the next game against Qatar SC.
The Al-Sadd coaching staff worked on raising the technical and physical fitness of the players ahead of the game, with the team showing high morale and spirit. Led by Xavi Hernandez, the coaches also used Saturday’s session to focus on ball skills, varying between offensive and defensive aspects.
Xavi then supervised a mini-game in the middle of the pitch, which witnessed a great competitive spirit from the players, with the coaches using it as an opportunity to implement tactical strategies.
Al-Sadd is now set to hold their last training session from 5:15 PM on Sunday evening, at the end of which the coach will announces the matchday squad.
