Al-Sadd exited the Amir Cup 2022 tournament after losing 3-2 to Al-Duhail, in the semifinal clash that was played on Monday, at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium.
Al-Duhail’s Ferjani Sassi opened the scoring in the 7th minute, and although Andre Ayew equalised for Al-Sadd in the 33rd minute, Al-Duhail went ahead again through Michael Olunga in the 44th minute. Sassi scored his second of the night to make it 3-1 in the 80th minute.
Baghdad Bounedjah reduced the deficit in the 90th minute, but Al-Sadd could not find the equalising third goal. The Wolves ended the game with ten men after Pedro Miguel was sent off in the 72nd minute.
