Roberto Mancini: It’s a very important game; we must do everything we can

Al-Sadd head coach Roberto Mancini has confirmed that Al Sadd are ready for their upcoming match against UAE side Shabab Al Ahli, in Round 6 of the AFC Champions League Elite for the 2025–2026 season.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Mancini said: “I expect it to be a strong match, and for us it is a very important game. We have some issues ahead of this game against Shabab Al Ahli. We are missing a number of players due to their participation in the Africa Cup of Nations as well as injuries, but we will be ready for the match in any case.” ... 

Successful surgery for Guilherme Torres

Al-Sadd midfielder Guilherme Torres underwent a successful surgery in the British capital, London, after suffering a foot injury during the match against Al-Wahda of the UAE in the AFC Champions League Elite.

The player will undergo a treatment and rehabilitation program during the upcoming period.

His return to training will depend on the speed of his recovery from the injury. ...

Al-Sadd lost 1–3 to Al-Wahda of the UAE, in the fifth round of the AFC Champions League Elite for the 2025–2026 season, in the match played between them at Al Nahyan Stadium on Tuesday, 25 November 2025.

With this defeat, Al-Sadd remained on two points. Al-Sadd’s only goal was scored by Claudinho in the 45+3 minute from the penalty spot, while Al-Wahda’s goals were scored by Dušan Tadić in the 55th and 66th minutes, and Caio in the 86th minute. ...

Doha Bank Stars League: Al-Sadd defeat Al-Sailiya 3-1

Al-Sadd defeated Al-Sailiya 3–1 in the tenth round of the Doha Bank Stars League for the 2025–2026 season, in the match played between the two sides at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium on Saturday, 22 November 2025.

With this result, Al-Sadd secured their third consecutive victory, reaching 17 points. Al-Sadd’s goals were scored by Brazilian forward Giovani Henrique in the 18th and 55th minutes, and Akram Afif in the 48th minute. Al-Sailiya’s goal was scored by Adam Ounas in the 50th minute. ...

Al-Sadd head coach Roberto Mancini spoke of the importance of winning the upcoming Doha Bank Stars League Round 10 game against Al-Sailiya.

Addressing the media at the pre-match press conference, Mancini said: “The next game will be difficult because the most difficult game is always the next.
