Al-Sadd head coach Bruno Miguel expressed his disappointment with his side’s goalless draw against Sharjah from the United Arab Emirates in their opening game of the AFC Champions League group stage.
During the post-match press conference, the coach stated, “We played well, and we were the better team throughout the match. We created many chances but couldn’t find the back of the net. We also missed a penalty that could have helped us secure the three points.”
Bruno continued, “I’m proud of the players’ performance. Everyone gave their best, and we were very close to winning in the opening round of the tournament.”
Regarding Baghdad Bounedjah’s missed penalty, the Portuguese coach said, “There was a lack of luck for Baghdad in missing the penalty, and this happens to all players. We played a good game and tried multiple times, but we couldn’t achieve what we were aiming for.”
The Al-Sadd coach concluded, “We are still at the beginning of the tournament, and we aim to win all our matches. We hope to deliver the best performances in the upcoming matches, which will undoubtedly be tougher.”
