Al Sadd SC announces the signing of Brazilian player Paulo Otavio from German club Wolfsburg, on a three-year deal starting from the 2023-2024 season.

Engineer Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Attiyah, the Vice President of the club, extended his congratulations to Al-Arabi Club, its management, and fans, on their victory in the 2023 Amir Cup.

In his statement to Al-Sadd’s official website following the match, the club’s vice-president expressed his congratulations, stating, “I congratulate Al-Arabi club on their championship win. They had a commendable season and secured an important title. I would also like to congratulate national coach Younes Ali for his outstanding performance with the Al-Arabi team throughout the season.” ... 

Al-Sadd suffered a 3-0 defeat to Al-Arabi in the final match of the 2023 Amir Cup, which was played on Friday, at Ahmed bin Ali Stadium.

Omar Al-Somah twice for Al-Arabi in the 62nd and 98th minutes, while Hamed Ismail added another goal in the 90th minute.

The match began with both teams displaying great enthusiasm and intensity. The initial period saw a cautious approach from both sides, with no real threats on either goalkeeper for the first 15 minutes. ... 

The Al-Sadd first team held their final training session on Thursday at Ahmed bin Ali Stadium, ahead of facing Al-Arabi in the final of the 2023 Amir Cup.

The training session was attended by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa, the club’s president, who was present to offer his support to the coaching staff and players and to boost their morale ahead of the crucial encounter with Al-Arabi. ... 

Hassan Al-Haydos, the captain of Al-Sadd, expressed his anticipation ahead of the final of the Amir Cup, where they will face Al-Arabi on Friday at Ahmed bin Ali Stadium.

During the press conference, Al-Haydos confidently stated, “Our team is fully prepared for the upcoming match. We have fine-tuned our preparations, and I am hopeful that the game will live up to the occasion, with the esteemed presence of His Highness the Amir.” ... 

Al-Sadd’s head coach Juanma Lillo expressed confidence in the team’s readiness to face Al-Arabi in the final of the 2023 Amir Cup, scheduled to be played on Friday at the Ahmed bin Ali Stadium.

During the press conference, Juanma stated, “We have been preparing for this crucial match for a long time. It holds great significance for us, and our objective is to emerge as winners. Al-Sadd suffered a 1-2 loss against Al-Arabi in the final match of the QNB Stars League for the 2022-2023 season, which took place on Monday, at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium.

With this loss, Al-Sadd remained at 44 points in third place. Al-Sadd’s goal was scored by Baghdad Bounedjah in the 93rd minute, while Al-Arabi’s goals were scored by Abdullah Maarafi in the second minute and Omar Al-Somah in the 55th minute. ... 

Al-Sadd defender Pedro Miguel expressed confidence in his team’s preparation for their final week 22 match against Al-Arabi in the QNB Stars League.

During the press conference, Pedro said, “The next match against Al-Arabi will be tough as they are in good form, and we are competing for the second position with them.” ... 

Al-Sadd head coach Juanma Lillo stressed the importance of the upcoming game against Al-Arabi in the 22nd and final week of the 2022-23 QNB Stars League.

Al-Sadd secured a dominant 3-1 victory over Al-Duhail in their QNB Stars League Round 21 clash on Thursday, held at the Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium. The win propelled Al-Sadd to 44 points, with the team remaining in third place.

Baghdad Bounedjah opened the scoring for Al-Sadd in the 41st minute, followed by Akram Afif’s goal in the 51st minute, and Rodrigo Tabata’s impressive strike in the 75th minute. Al-Duhail scored their lone goal through Michael Olunga’s penalty in the 73rd minute. ...
