Salem Al Hajri: We want to continue at the same level, the second phase will be tougher

Al-Sadd midfielder Salem Al Hajri spoke of his team’s desire to continue at the same level when they face Al-Kharaitiyat match in Round 12 of the QNB Stars League.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Salem said: “We will strive to continue at the same level in our next match against Al Kharaitiyat at the beginning of the second phase of the league. We want to win the league title without losing a game, and that would be a good thing which will motivate us in the other tournaments.” ... 

Xavi: We respect Al-Kharaitiyat, we cannot lose any more points

Al-Sadd head coach Xavi Hernandez spoke of the importance of continuity, and the need to have a strong start to the second phase of the QNB Stars League. The Wolves are set to begin the second phase with the Round 12 game against Al-Kharaitiyat on Saturday.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Xavi said: “The next game is against Al-Kharaitiyat, and we’re starting the second lap (of the season). We did a good job in the first lap and we have to continue like that.” ... 

Al Sadd hold main training session to prepare for Al Kharaitiyat

The Al-Sadd first team held their main training session on Thursday evening at the club’s secondary pitch, in preparation for the next game against Al-Kharaitiyat, in Round 12 of the QNB Stars League.

Al-Sadd will enter the match with great enthusiasm looking for a strong start to the second phase of the competition. The Wolves will aim for three points to maintain their lead at the top of the league table. ... 

Abdelkarim Hassan: It was a difficult and hard-fought game

Al-Sadd defender Abdelkarim Hassan said his side’s 1-1 draw with Qatar SC reflected the difficulty of the game.

Speaking to the media after the game, Abdelkarim said: “It was a hard-fought and difficult match for both teams. We tried to take the lead, but Qatar played in an organised manner and were strong defensively, and we couldn’t score the second goal after equalising. In general, both teams did well.” ... 

QNB Stars League: Al Sadd draw 1-1 with Qatar SC

Al-Sadd had to be satisfied with a point after drawing 1-1 with Qatar SC in their QNB Stars League Round 11 clash which was played on Monday at the Suhaim bin Hamad Stadium.

The Wolves increased their tally to 29 points and ended the first phase of the league at the top of the table.

Qatar SC opened the scoring in the 31st minute through Anthony Okpotu, and then Santi Cazorla equalised for Al Sadd in the 42nd minute from a penalty. ... 

Al-Sadd conclude preparations for Qatar SC clash

The Al Sadd first team concluded their preparations for the upcoming game against Qatar SC with their final training session at the club’s secondary pitch on Sunday evening. The QNB Stars League Round 11 game is set to kick off at 6:30 PM on Monday at Suhaim bin Hamad Stadium.

Head coach Xavi Hernandez supervised the session, making sure the players were physically and technically fully prepared for tomorrow’s match. At the end of the training session, the coach announced the matchday squad, consisting of 20 players: Meshaal Barsham, Saad Al-Dosari, Jung Woo-young, Ahmed Sayyar, Pedro Miguel, Hassan Al-Haydos, Mohamed Waad, Salem Al-Hajri, Ali Asad, Baghdad Bounedjah, Guilherme Torres, Rodrgio Tabata, Santi Cazorla, Abdelkarim Hassan, Yousuf Abdurisag, Hashim Ali, Musaab Khidir, Nam Tae-hee, Ahmed Suhail, Tarek Salman. ... 

Pedro Miguel: It will be a difficult game against Qatar

Al-Sadd defender Pedro Miguel shared his thoughts on his side’s upcoming game against Qatar SC in Round 11 of the QNB Stars League.
