Al-Sadd conclude preparations for Al-Arabi clash

The Al-Sadd first team concluded its training on Saturday, at the club’s secondary pitch, in preparation for the match against Al-Arabi in the sixth round of the QNB Stars League. The match twill be held on Sunday evening at the Grand Hamad Stadium.

The Wolves go into the match sitting at the top of the QNB Stars League table with 13 points from 4 wins and a draw, while Al-Arabi are ranked ninth with 5 points. ... 

Mohammed Waad: We want to defeat Al-Arabi in the derby and make our fans happy

Al-Sadd’s Mohammed Waad shared his thoughts on the upcoming game against Al-Arabi in Round 6 of the QNB Stars League, which will be played on Sunday at the Grand Hamad Stadium.

Speaking during the pre-match press conference, Waad said: “We have a derby game coming up on Sunday, between Al-Arabi and Al-Sadd. It will be a difficult game, we hope our fans support us and InshaAllah we will make everybody happy. It will be difficult but hopefully we will win.” ... 

Xavi: It will be a tough game against Al-Arabi, but we are ready to compete

Al-Sadd head coach Xavi Hernandez addressed the media ahead of the QNB Stars League Round 6 game against Al-Arabi, stressing on the importance of the game and the readiness of his side.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Xavi said: “The next game against Al-Arabi is very important for us, because it is a derby. Our rival is very strong; they have already qualified for the Amir Cup final and we also beat them in the Ooredoo Cup final.” ... 

Qatargas U-23 League: Al-Sadd defeat Al-Kharaitiyat 2-1

The Al-Sadd under-23 team defeated Al-Kharaitiyat 2-1 in the postponed match from the fourth week of the Qatargas U-23 League, which was played on Friday at Al Sailiya Club Stadium.

With this victory, Al-Sadd increased their points tally to 9 from 5 matches, after three wins, and 2 defeats to Al-Duhail and Qatar SC. ...

Al-Sadd’s internationals rejoined the first team for training on Thursday, in preparation for facing Al-Arabi in the sixth round of the QNB Stars League. The match that will be held on Sunday evening at the Grand Hamad Stadium.

11 players from the Qatar national team – Hassan Al Haydos, Meshaal Barshim, Pedro Miguel, Khoukhi Boualem, Musab Khidir, Muhammad Waad, Akram Afif, Tarek Salman, Yousef Abdurisag, Abdelkarim Hassan and Ahmed Suhail – joined the Wolves camp on Thursday, in addition to the South Korean duo of Nam Tae-hee and Jung Woo-young, and Algerian international striker Baghdad Bounedjah. ... 

Ooredoo Cup: Al-Sadd conclude preparations ahead of quarterfinal against Al-Gharafa

Al-Sadd concluded their preparations today, Sunday, at the club’s secondary pitch, ahead of the match against Al-Gharafa in the quarter-finals of the 2020-21 Ooredoo Cup, which will kick off at 5 PM on Monday at Suhaim bin Hamad Stadium.

The Wolves qualified for the quarterfinals after finishing in fourth place in Group A with 7 points from two wins, two losses and one draw, while Al-Gharafa were ranked first in Group B with 13 points. ... 

Qatargas U-23 League: Al-Sadd lose to Qatar SC

The Al-Sadd U-23 team lost 2-0 to Qatar SC in the Qatargas League fifth round game, which was played on Friday at Al-Shamal Club stadium.

With this result, Al-Sadd remain on six points after two wins and two losses, with a postponed match remaining from the fourth week, against Al-Kharaitiyat.

Qatar SC opened the scoring through Rashid Mohammed, who struck in the 45th minute from a penalty kick, and Saleh Hassan scored the second goal in the 59th minute. Both teams ended the game with ten men apiece after Al Sadd’s Fahd Khalifa and Qatar’s Saleh Hassan were sent off in the 71st minute. ... 

Ooredoo Cup: Al-Sadd begin preparations for quarterfinal against Al-Gharafa

The Al-Sadd first team resumed training today, Thursday, in preparation for the game against Al Gharafa in the quarter-finals of the Ooredoo Cup, that will be played next Monday at the Suhaim Bin Hamad Stadium.

The Wolves, who are the defending champions, qualified for the quarterfinals after finishing fourth in Group A, while the Al-Gharafa team came first in the Group B. ... 

Ooredoo Cup: Al-Sadd lose to Al-Wakrah

Al-Sadd fell to a 5-0 defeat to Al-Wakrah in their final Group A clash of the 2020-21 Ooredoo Cup, which was played at the Suhaim bin Hamad Stadium on Tuesday.

The result means that Al-Sadd end the group stage with 7 points, and the Wolves will await the other results from the group to know their final position. ...
