Al-Sadd’s Akram Afif was named as the winner of the Best Player award for the 2019-20 season, after receiving the highest number of votes, over the other contenders Yacine Brahimi of Al-Rayyan, and Edmilson of Al-Duhail.

Akram received 60.91% of the votes to win the award for the second season in a row. It’s been an impressive season for Akram, as he lifted the Sheikh Jassim Cup and Qatar Cup with Al-Sadd, while also finishing with 15 goals in the QNB Stars League to be named as joint top scorer with Brahimi. ... 

Al-Sadd defender Ahmed Suhail expressed his happiness after his side reached the final of the Ooredoo Cup with a 2-0 win over Al-Ahli on Saturday evening.

Speaking to the media after the game, Ahmed said: “I am delighted to win this game and reach the final to face Al-Arabi. We played a big game, and Al-Ahli was a tough and stubborn opponent.” ...
