Al-Sadd’s Spanish midfielder Santi Cazorla stressed on the importance of preparing well for the new season, which he expects to be “difficult.”
Speaking in an exclusive interview with the club website, Cazorla said: “We are doing well in the training camp, we are working very hard. We have time to prepare and come into the first game in the best way, so we have to continue like this.”
He added: “The target for the team is to do the same as last season when we won everything. It will be difficult because there are very good teams in the league but this is our target and we will try to win everything again.”
Asked about the presence of several young players in the team’s training camp amidst the absence of Qatari internationals, Cazorla said: “This is good news for us that we have young players with us
This is very important for the club.”
“It is true that it is a little bit difficult as we don’t have all the players with us but this is part of football. So we have to prepare well with the players we have here while we are waiting for the others.”
As for winning the award for the Best Player in the QSL last season, the midfielder stated: “I am very happy that i won the award for the best player in the league. I want to say thank you very much to my teammates, the staff, the club because they helped me a lot from the beginning.”
He concluded by saying: “As i always said, the only important thing for me is to try to help the team to win everything.”
