Felix Sanchez, the coach of Al-Sadd, expressed his happiness with the important 2-0 victory over Iranian side Esteghlal, in the second round of the AFC Champions League Elite for the 2024-2025 season.
Sanchez stated in his remarks after the match: “I congratulate the players on the victory and the performance they delivered in the match. It was a difficult game against Esteghlal, but we managed to provide our best performance and achieve the win, earning three points.”
When asked about the injuries to Atal, Pedro, and Al Yazidi, he said, “Certainly, it is a loss. The injury of three players in the match is a big loss, and we still do not have information about the severity of the injuries.”
The Al-Sadd coach continued: “We have earned four points from two matches, which is a good rate for us, and we will strive in the upcoming rounds to do better and accumulate more points.”
Regarding the participation of Moroccan defender Romain Saïss in the match, Sanchez said: “All the players performed well, and he did what was expected of him, proving that he is a good player. He played with skill and concentration, and I hope all players maintain good focus and performance in all matches.”
