Al-Sadd coach Felix Sanchez expressed his gratitude to the players for their performance during the 1-1 draw against Al Hilal, in the fifth round of the AFC Champions League Elite stage.
The Spanish coach said during the post-match press conference: “We faced one of the best teams in Asia. The match was very intense, and the players were highly focused. We managed to come back and equalize.”
He added: “We approached the game in stages, and I thank the players for their high concentration. We definitely aimed for the win, as Al Sadd always enters every match to win, but we ended up with a draw and earned one point. I am satisfied with the team’s performance in the match.”
Sanchez continued: “It’s not easy to go unbeaten in the competition, and this gives us great morale to continue performing well. Our focus is on winning and qualifying. I’m happy with the satisfaction of the fans with the team’s performance so far in the tournament. Our ambition is to keep improving.”
He concluded: “The team must be at the required level in light of the intense pressure of the competition. We are working to prepare all players to be available for the matches, and we aim to continue performing at our best in the upcoming games.”
