Felix Sanchez, Al Sadd’s head coach, emphasized the importance of the upcoming clash against Pakhtakor in Matchday 8 of the AFC Champions League Elite for the 2024-2025 season.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Felix said: “We are in a highly demanding competition, and the next game against Pakhtakor will be very difficult, just like all the other matches.”
He added: “They have a strong team, and although they are not scoring many goals, we know that they recently changed their coach and made some adjustments to their playing style. It is difficult to create many chances in this competition, and so far, they haven’t been able to score much. We will try to keep it that way in this match.”
The Al Sadd coach continued: “At the same time, we must focus on all aspects of our game to secure the win against Pakhtakor.”
Felix described the early qualification to the Round of 16 as a positive position for the team, saying: “We know that tomorrow’s match will be very tough against a well-organized team that is difficult to score against, even though they haven’t had the best results recently. It’s also a great opportunity for us as a team to play in such matches and give some players more playing time.”
He concluded: “Our main focus will be on ourselves, striving to improve in every game as a collective unit.”
