Felix Sanchez, head coach of Al Sadd, spoke about the importance of proper preparation for the upcoming match against Al Khor in Week 21 of the 2024–2025 Ooredoo Stars League season.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Felix said: “Our next match will be against Al Khor, and we are now getting ready to play the final two matches of the league. We fully understand how crucial they are. We’ve reached the top of the table, but if we want to stay there, we must keep winning.”
He added: “I believe both teams have a lot to play for in this match. Al Khor, given their recent results, are fighting to remain in the top division, while we are pushing to achieve our goal of winning the league. So we expect both sides to give their all during the match.”
The Al Sadd coach continued: “Every win brings us closer to the title, and that is always the goal for a club like Al Sadd. But we must maintain our position against Al Khor so that we go into the final round with our fate in our own hands.”
He concluded by saying: “Our full focus is now on the Al Khor match. We hope to deliver a strong performance and collect all three points.”
Meanwhile, Al Sadd defender Tarek Salman underlined the importance of the match, saying: “We’re heading into a very important and decisive clash against Al Khor. Winning is our only objective in order to claim three vital points and stay at the top of the table with one round to go.”
Tarek added: “The support of the Al Sadd fans will be very important for us, especially since the match is at home, and we need their backing.”
He also pointed out that the team is not under any pressure: “As a team, we’re not feeling any pressure. We play as one unit and always support each other. After 20 rounds, we’re in first place, and we’re not going to give that up—we’re determined to keep the league title at the home of the champions.”
