Felix Sanchez, Al Sadd’s head coach, confirmed the team’s readiness for the upcoming match against Al Wakrah in Round 19 of the 2024-2025 Ooredoo Stars League.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Sanchez stated: “After the international break, we have several players who were with their national teams, and now they are ready to return to competition. We have four crucial matches ahead, starting with Al Wakrah, which is a very important game for us. We must focus on ourselves and aim for the three points, as that is our only option if we want to reach the top of the league.”
He added: “We managed to secure the three points in the first phase, but it was a tough match. Al Wakrah has talented players, is well-organized, and is strong in midfield. Therefore, we must be fully prepared for a tough game on Saturday. The next four matches will be highly significant for all teams, as each team has its own goals to achieve.”
The Spanish coach continued: “We must take each match one step at a time. For the players returning from international duty, it’s not easy, but they are used to this—playing for their national teams and then coming back to the club. We hope that all players will be fully fit and ready for the matches ahead.”
He concluded: “We need to assess the condition of some of the returning players. We will take things one game at a time, but we know that the next four matches will be extremely difficult.”
Meanwhile, Al Sadd player Ali Asad also emphasized the importance of the upcoming match against Al Wakrah.
