Al-Sadd coach Felix Sanchez spoke about the importance of the upcoming match against Al-Wakrah in Week 8 of the Ooredoo Stars League, set to take place on Sunday evening at Al Janoub Stadium.
In the pre-match press conference, Sanchez said, “We know that Al-Wakrah had a strong season last year and is also in good shape this season. Their playing style is quite different from other teams.”
The Al-Sadd coach continued, “Al-Wakrah is an offensive team that applies high pressure, so we’ll need to know how to manage things to compete at a good level. Our last Champions League game against Persepolis was very tough, so we obviously need to analyze our performance and prepare well for this next challenge.”
The Spanish coach emphasized the importance of preparation, saying, “We have to prepare as best as we can to face Al-Wakrah. This is the most important game for us right now, and we must be ready to win and secure the three points.”
Meanwhile, Al-Sadd midfielder Ali Asad also highlighted the importance of solid preparation for the challenging game ahead against Al-Wakrah, acknowledging it will be a tough match for both teams.
Asad added, “We have an important match ahead, and we’re currently in good form, especially in the AFC Champions League. We’ve dropped some points in the league, and we’re looking to make up for it in this strong matchup against Al-Wakrah.”
He concluded, “We aim to give our best against Al-Wakrah to secure the win and the three points, which will be a big step forward in the standings, helping us rejoin the competition and bring joy to Al-Sadd fans.”
