Al-Sadd’s coach Félix Sánchez described his side’s upcoming match against Iran’s Persepolis as a tough clash that requires full concentration. The third round match of the AFC Champions League Elite will be played on Monday evening at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium.
Speaking during the pre-match press conference, Félix said: “We will play our third match in the tournament, and like all games in this tournament, it will be difficult and intense. We had the Shahania match just two days ago, so we have a short time for the players to recover, but we are confident in delivering a strong performance and competing hard to achieve a positive result.”
He added: “Of course, every match involves preparation and studying the opponent. Persepolis is a distinguished and strong team with many options, and we need to be fully focused to secure our second win in the tournament.”
Regarding the absence of Pedro and Youcef Atal, he stated: “Injuries are part of football. The absence of Pedro and Youcef Atal is significant, but we have high-quality players who can step up and compensate for their absence. I hope we can present a full and strong lineup in tomorrow’s match.”
Félix concluded: “The results of previous matches between Al Sadd and Persepolis are in the past. Persepolis is a strong team, and our sole focus is on tomorrow’s match to achieve victory.”
