Felix Sanchez, the head coach of Al-Sadd, spoke about the importance of the team’s upcoming clash against Al-Gharafa in the third round of the Doha Bank Stars League.
During the press conference, Felix said:
“We expect a tough game. Al-Gharafa have started the season strongly, but we are confident of playing a good match at our stadium, in front of our fans, and achieving a positive result.”
The Al-Sadd coach continued:
“It’s important for us to regain our balance after the first match. I think last week we performed well and showed improvement, and we want to keep building on that to compete at our best level in front of our supporters.”
The Spanish coach also pointed out that the team earned their first three points in the league against a strong side, which always gives more confidence before the next game. He added:
“It’s important to win the last match before the FIFA international break. We want to go into the break with positive feelings, and of course, we want to get another good result for the team.”
For his part, Al-Sadd defender Pedro Miguel underlined the importance of preparing well for the Al-Gharafa match, saying:
“We have an important game coming up against Al-Gharafa. They are a good team, but we are ready for these kinds of matches.”
He added:
“We like to play strong games, and we are determined to get the three points. We know they have quality players and a strong squad, but we also have amazing players.”
The Al-Sadd player went on to say:
“Maybe our fans were not too happy with our first defeat, but this is football — you cannot win every time. What matters is how you respond. We are preparing well for the upcoming matches, and step by step we are improving. Against Al-Gharafa, we will show everyone that we are ready for the whole season.”
