Hassan Al-Haydos, the captain of Al-Sadd, emphasized that luck was not on their side in the match against Sharjah in the first round of the AFC Champions League group stage.
Al-Haydos stated in his remarks after the match, “We entered the match with the goal of winning and securing the three points, but we didn’t succeed. Luck was not with us in taking advantage of the opportunities presented to us and converting them into goals.”
He added, “We wished to bring joy to our passionate fans who attended and supported the team wholeheartedly. We apologize to them for the result, and we will try to make amends in the upcoming matches. This is the first game, and the next ones will be better.”
