The Al Sadd first team held its main training session on Friday, at the club’s secondary pitch, in preparation for facing Al Sailiya in Round 1 of the QNB Stars League. The match will be played on Sunday evening at Thani Bin Jassim Stadium in Al Gharafa.
Al Sadd will go into the match with great enthusiasm, with the defending champions aiming for three points and a strong start to the new season.
The technical staff implemented some special attacking moves and focused on the players’ movement, before organising a mini-practice game in the middle of the pitch.
In the second half of the training session, the players underwent special training drills for shooting from deep and from the sides.
Friday’s main session witnessed the participation of the Qatari international players, in addition to the return of the Ghanaian international Andre Ayew, after the end of his participation with his country in the African qualifiers for the World Cup.
The Al-Sadd squad will have its last training session from 6 PM onwards on Saturday evening, at the club’s training facility, at the end of which the head coach will announces the list of players for the match.
