Juanma Lillo, head coach of Al-Sadd, expressed his satisfaction with the team’s impressive 4-0 victory over Al-Markhiya in the Round of 16 of the Amir Cup.
During the post-match press conference, Juanma commented, “It was a tough match as Al-Markhiya closed the spaces, but we played well and accomplished what we aimed for, qualifying for the quarter-finals.”
He continued, “The win has given us a morale boost ahead of our next game against Al-Duhail in the league championship. We introduced several young players, and they played well, while we rested several key players in the second half after securing the result.”
Juanma concluded, “The quarter-final match against Umm Salal will be challenging. The Amir Cup is distinct from the league championship, and our current focus is on the Al-Duhail match next Sunday.”
