Al Sadd coach Juanma Lillo thanked his players for their performance in the QNB Stars League Round 4 match against Al Gharafa, which ended with his side losing 1-2.
In his statement to the club website after the match, Juanma said: “We were not bad and controlled the match despite the numerical disadvantage. We played very fast, even with 10 men, and we were capable of getting a better result, but we were not successful.”
The coach continued: “We started the second half very well, and despite this, Al-Gharafa went ahead with the second goal, but we had confidence and got a goal back through Guilherme. We completely took control of the match after that and we were close to achieving a draw and also it was possible to get a win and the three points.”
Juanma concluded by saying: “We must praise the performance of Al Sadd players in the match. Yes we lost, but everyone feels good after the match, and it is one of the best matches we have played.”
